While usually being innovative and creative, farmers often lack experiences, access to services, people or markets and skills to have realistic chances to succeed as entrepreneurs(Wongtshowski et al.2013) I have therefore, drafted 12 lessons on Agripreneurship. These will guide us as farmers,as we seek to build farming models, that will enable us to profitably meet human needs. Agripreneuship encompasses the transforming of our agricultural ideas or visions into a new business or the expansion of our existing agricultural businesses.Let's get into more details from the lessons below. Lesson 01:Be an Agripreneur,Win The Inner War Being creative is a big part of being an agripreneur.A creative person comes up with creative ideas that are useful and helpful. As agripreneurs our biggest challenge is our own mind.Running a serious agricultural business is tough and we will without a doubt, encounter problems. At such moments we will feel discouraged, that is why we need to win the inner war.Winning the inner war entails being positive even when the situation is bad.Winning the inner war calls for us to continuously press on with our agricultural ideas or ventures, even when we encounter obstacles. As agripreneurs,we will fail in business unless we win the inner war.So winning the inner war calls for us to work with all our hearts, minds and strength to excel in our businesses. What can you do to win the inner war? 1.Identify one agripreneur that you know of who has persevered through hard times. What do you think enabled this person to succeed and what will you do to be also as persevering as this farmer? 2.Write down a memorising affirmation.A positive statement that you say about yourself, for example,“I am an unstoppable farmer and I am succeeding through my effort."Continuously use all the time to give yourself confidence and encouragement to pump yourself up. 3.Focus on your success as a farmer.Start everyday by writing an important action that you will take during the day.Make sure you take that action and review your progress and celebrate your success before you go to bed. 4.Express appreciation and gratitude at all times.Find other farmers who are doing good things, say ‘hey well done.'Appreciate the farming business you are running, appreciate the service you are offering and thank God for even the smallest of successes at all times. 5.Start learning from your failures as a farmer.Think of every mistake as an opportunity for learning and avoid making the same mistake over and over again in your farming business.
